The United Praise Chorale

United Praise Chorale (affectionately called “UP Nation [UPC]”) was organized in November of 2006 under the direction of Dr. Anthony McBeth. United Praise originated from the young organized group R.E.A.L., which was formed at the New Bright Star Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. R.E.A.L. was organized by Pastor Michael Nichols in 2004. After calling Minister Anthony McBeth to be the musical director of this newly formed music ministry, R.E.A.L. began to travel and sing all over the state of Texas.

Under the leadership of Dr. Anthony McBeth, R.E.A.L. recorded and released a live project entitled “He’s Able”. This album release was recognized all over the country in 2007, when the title hit, “He’s Able,” was performed at the 35th Annual Session of the Gospel Music Workshop of America in Orlando, Florida. The song was recorded and produced again by Pastor John P. Kee along with the Gospel Music Workshop of America Mass Choir. The project, “He’s Able” is an inspiring, hand-clapping, foot-stomping, traditional recording that many choirs across the country are enjoying everyday.

As R.E.A.L began to make its closure in 2006, the Lord moved upon Dr. McBeth to begin the United Praise Chorale. Since its inception, this ministry has sang and opened for many famed artists today such as Kurt Carr, Chester D.T. Baldwin, Yolanda Adams, Johnathan Nelson, and Dottie Peoples to name a few.

The United Praise Chorale is comprised of more than twenty-five singers and a 5 piece band. The ministry recently recorded a single entitled “Wait on the Lord”. The entire project is set to release in 2017. The record has been graced with the vocal performances of Nikki Ross, Rhonda McLemore, and Joshua Hurt. Musical arrangements were created and inspired by Shawn McLemore and Anthony McBeth.

The United Praise Chorale is not just a ministry of singers, but a ministry blessed with pastors, ministers of music, educators, professors, medical professionals, and legal administrators, who believe in giving back to the community. Each year, the United Praise Chorale participates and assists in the hosting of a back to school rally for the community. UPC is privileged with giving more than 200 students in area with low social economic status, and residential treatment centers backpacks and school supplies.
